We'll be filming Gorilla over 5 days in September and we hope to have a finished film to show by November this year!
There will be a public screening of the film at the ACMI in Melbourne in November, and if you take a look at the rewards there are a few other ways to see the film on offer!
We will then send our film to festivals all over the world (and all around Australia) with hopes that there will be plenty more screenings in 2013!

WHY WE'RE MAKING THIS FILM - DIRECTOR'S NOTES
This is what Gorilla explores. Following a new couple at a stage where they must start making commitments together, the film explores how we each face the idea of the future very differently, and how eventually we need to let go and enjoy what's right in front of us before it gets away.
We have an excellent cast and crew, many of whom are are donating their time and talent. We have been working hard at raising funds, but we need your help to meet some of our production costs. The support you provide will help us pay for lighting equipment, catering (Tim's Mum is flying down from Brisbane to be our caterer!!), art department (wardrobe and props), location fees, transport hire, and many more things we need to make sure this film is the best it can be and that the wonderful people donating their time to us are well looked after! After the film's completion we'll then use funds towards marketing and festival entry fees.

From Tim Marshall, writer and director of internationally acclaimed short film Battlefield comes Gorilla - a story about the unknowns in our lives and the questions we'll never know the answers to.
Starring Gary Abrahams of Queer as F**k and up and coming talents Alexander Duncan and Chloe Boreham, Gorilla will take you on a thrilling journey of mystery and suspense through the eyes of a gay couple at the early stages of commitment whose differences are magnified by external forces that eventually shake the very foundations they are trying to build a relationship on.
Newly in love couple Sean (Abrahams) and Joel (Duncan) embark on a camping weekend away to develop and understand their relationship. As the reality of each other’s personal differences surface during this romantic escape, a mysterious woman (Boreham) comes out of the wilderness and forces the couple to embark on a journey of self discovery that threatens to tear the two apart.
The film is being produced through the Victorian College of the Arts as writer/director Tim Marshall's graduating Masters project.

WHY WE'RE MAKING THIS FILM - DIRECTOR'S NOTES
Ever since I was young I have been endlessly fascinated with the infinite nature of the universe, and its mind boggling scope. I've sat up many nights thinking about it, and it led me to start looking at how we as humans are fascinated and entranced by the unknowns in our lives. Most of us, if we could, wouldn't be able to resist a peek into our future to find out just how unpredictable it might be.
This is what Gorilla explores. Following a new couple at a stage where they must start making commitments together, the film explores how we each face the idea of the future very differently, and how eventually we need to let go and enjoy what's right in front of us before it gets away.
As a queer film maker, I am also really passionate about telling a truthful and honest story with queer characters that follow no stereotypes and can be related to by all audiences no matter their gender, age or sexual preference. I think it's really important that queer films keep being made in our country, especially in these times, as a way to empower the voice of our community and connect our unique stories to Australia and the rest of the world.
