He is also a very caring, supportive and inclusive musician who warmly hosted an Open Mic for many years supporting fledgling performers, of whom I was one. G'day, Tim Woodz here!

My music is acoustic groovy folk music, little soul bluessgrassy, quirky and upbeat storytelling style.

Some styles I've been compared to are similar of John Prine, Darren Hanlon, Arlo Guthrie, David Francey and maybe Niel Young and crazy horse.

In May 2013, I will be recording a full length Album, along with help from some amazing people. The Album will consist of the songs that I've been playing live for the past 2-3 years, at times I have thought to myself that maybe I will never get the chance to record these songs the way that I want them done. But now I have that opportunity for that dream to come true.

The recording studio.

I'm going to record in the peaceful surroundings of Daylesford just a little drive north-west of Melbourne, at Bald Hill studio which is actually a beautiful old victorian house located on a dusty dirt road near a sheep station. The engineer Mark has had an amazing career as a sound engineer for many acts in the late 80s early 90s, he then helped to start Melbourne's sing sing studios, which due to his hard work has become one of Melbourne most prestigious and desirable studios to record in. He has a knowledge and skill in the studio that goes beyond anybody else's I've met over the years. He writes all the latest studio equipment reviews in audio magazines and gets to keep all the equipment, so he has the best mic's and sound equipment to offer without charging a ridiculous amount to record with him. Not only will it be an inspiring atmosphere to be out of the city and in the country where I belong but myself and my musical collages will be getting the best of the best in audio engineering.

Winner of the 2011 Maldon Minstrel Award, Gippsland born singer-songwriter Tim Woodz plays rhythm based folk music and has been captivating audiences for over 9 years, with a unique style that melts Jazz, Blues and Funk into his passion for folk music and poetry. He is a modern Paul Kelly storyteller with a quirky twist, singing into the hearts of the audience through poetry and insight, not to mention he is a stunning guitarist and has a warm, deep, bass-baritone voice. Tim is one of a kind with a stage presence that will leave you with an unforgettable experience.
