Hi, I'm Tobias. 

I want to raise the funds to press my new album 'Naughts & Ones' onto vinyl LP. 

In a world where so much great new music goes direct to digital formats, launched deep into the fathomless pools of itunes libraries or streaming platforms, the return of the vinyl LP is heartening. Records take us back to a way of presenting and experiencing music that is so very focused and tangible. From the large-form artwork, to the act of putting needle to groove and flipping sides at half-time, they demand a journey or ceremony that honours the hard work and intent of the artist. 

I am proud of the material that's on my new album. I think there's some cracking tunes ( 5 per side in fact! ) that are worthy of immortalizing on the black sticky stuff, for my friends and fans have in their collections. 

This campaign is to cover the outlay of vinyl production for an album that I have otherwise entirely self-funded. 

Of course, it will also be available on the other formats; download and CD!!

SOME BACKGROUND:

Following my 2014 release 'The Daylight Express' I return with my third solo album 'Naughts & Ones'  - a triumphant mirror-maze of snappy pop tunes that throw into sharp relief, the remnant streaks of dark rock that I'm better known for.

Due for release in April 2019!

Written over a couple of years, the songs were reimagined at lightning-speed in collaboration with producer/drummer Rohan Sforcina ( Oh Mercy / Dune Rats ), at Four Hundred Acres Recording Studio, Broadmeadows Victoria. 

The process breathed energy and the air of surprise into a sound that plumbs ever-deeper, my formative experiences of music. The indelible melodies of childhood radio hits by the likes of XTC, Splits Enz, The Stranglers, Roxy Music and The Church were the situational influences that moulded my signature bent for song construction.

Joined by my immaculate band and graced with guest appearances from luminous musical friends 'Naughts & Ones' is a hooky, joyous, melodically saturated sonic journey. 

The album is now mastered and ready to roll. The following 3 singles have already been lifted:

• Long Kiss Goodnight
• Separation Street

The subsequent outlay for design, pressing, distribution and publicity can get pretty overwhelming.
