G’day! We’ve been selected to develop a new work for Proximity Festival 2014 at Fremantle Arts Centre and we need your help! 

‘The Queue’ is a 10 minute one-on-one experience. A variation on the citizenship test, you'll be invited to undergo a series of questions, activities and cheeky provocations.  Assess your own knowledge of and attitudes towards this land ‘of beauty rich and rare’, and ultimately prove your Australian-ness!

This new work will be a playful subversion drawing on interrogation techniques, mass media histronics about race, cultural identity, and nationalism, and predictions of where Australia may be heading.


Thanks to Creative Partnerships Australia, every dollar you pledge up to $750 will be matched through their Match Crowdfunding for the Independent Arts Sector initiative, provided we reach our target!

'The Queue' will be developed and presented as part of Proximity Festival at Fremantle Arts Centre 21 October – 1 November 2014. Proximity Festival is the first platform in Australia dedicated to the creation and presentation of one-on-one intimate performances. Co-founded by James Berlyn, Sarah Rowbottam and Kelli Mccluskey, Proximity Festival provides critical peer support, encouraging artists from all disciplines to experiment with new modes of practice in the creation of participatory art. www.proximityfestival.com
