The Campaign
Our struggles to succeed or just get by in life can be overwhelming and trying to make sense of it all and understand ourselves in the process can be our undoing. Communication is such an important part of life that we should never take for granted.
Depression takes many different forms and how one person deals with it will be different to the next person. There is no single way to handle the illness. The worst thing we can do is to hide away and pretend nothing is wrong.
My aim is to challenge your thoughts about mental health and the people who are suffering from the disease. We have our bad moments but we are still able to laugh and have a good time. Knowledge leads to understanding.
Surfacing - The Play
Four childhood friends have grown up sharing their dreams and realities. They are there for each other in good times and bad. When the bad times become too difficult and private to share, each of them cope in different ways. Facades can only be kept for so long before something gives way and reveals the pain inside.

Tracey Mathers - Playwright, Actress and Producer
This is Tracey's first play after being continually told to "write stuff". She is known amongst family and friends as being entertaining with her intensity, witty sarcasm and expressive storytelling - going to the shops isn't as boring as it sounds! She has a very irregular blog titled "grumpyyounggal" and writes newsletters for one of her day jobs. She came to Melbourne from Coffs Harbour to pursue acting and is still pursuing it. Along the way she has won awards for performances in theatre and short film. She played Shelly Olivetti in We Can Be Heroes and has been in many short films and TVC's.
