This was the bare minimum we needed to continue with our project and after 6 months of work it is a a huge relief to have your support to keep it going.
All extra funds that come in now will go towards watertight and rodent proof storage, safety harnesses, music and transport.

Upatree Arts Cooperative is a community arts organisation whose aim is To design, organize and conduct arts events, celebrations and rituals that foster and promote community spirit, social capital, and social and environmental justice.
In short one of our most favourite activities is building and performing with Giant Puppets.
In 2004 we began in the mountain villages of Mt Nebo and Mt Glorious, the hinterland of Brisbane, with a celebration of community stories, spirit and the arts. Having built ten Giant puppets and creating a live soundtrack with local residents artists and musicians we then went on to perform at Woodford folk festival and many other local events.
Since then we have been helping other communities celebrate their stories and bring celebration, festivity and support to a wide range of events and causes. This year we would like to improve on our designs and make new giant puppets that are more sustainable and use less consumable items in the assembly before performance (we do love gaffa tape and cable ties but have found better alternatives!)
We have been busy printing carefully designed materials for the puppets costumes and are entering the costume and internal construction phase.
The money we raise from this Pozible campaign will be used in buying construction materials that will last many years and have quick release assembly and pack down features. We will be making a 12 metre Rainbow Serpent/feathered dragon, a larger than life Egret, a 5 metre Black cockatoo that will commemorate and celebrate death and a mythically inspired dragon keeper.
We are also hoping to raise enough money to kit out the puppets with lighting and super light battery kits as they look amazing lit up at night. Our first deadline is in October where we are hoping to debut the 2012 creation at the Mt Nebo Hall 60th anniversary celebration.
We are looking forward to updating you with progress on our creations and perhaps even wowing you in person someday.
