In Quiet Company follows two sisters, Amy and Claire, as they struggle to repair their broken family with little food or money. Amidst these desperate circumstances Amy, the younger of the two sisters, discovers an unknown creature hiding in the farmhouse shed. As tensions build between Claire and their negligent father, Amy begins to understand how this mysterious creature can help save the family.
The screenplay, written by Guy Franklin earlier this year, was adapted from an original story imagined by our Director, Josh Harris. The film deals with the reality of self preservation and the importance of sacrifice. It explores the question, "if something is necessary, is it necessarily right?"

How The Funds Will Be Used
The funds for this project will go towards key production elements such as:
- Camera and Lighting Hire
- Production Design and props
- Location Hire
- Special Effects Make Up
- Transport costs - there will be a small road trip and some car pooling involved
- Most importantly - catering!
We will be shooting the film over 4 days. It will be a very fast paced shoot so we can keep costs down. The crew for this project will be working on a volunteer basis.

The Challenges
The biggest challenge with this project is creating a creature who is not of this world. It really has to be believable otherwise the central themes of the story could be over-shadowed. It will take time, attention to detail and of course $$$!
In addition we hope to depict a dystopian Australian landscape. Production design will be key and so we need to give our production designers as many resources as possible.
The film is set in a rural location and so we will need transport for the cast, crew and equipment. We won't be able to afford accommodation so we will need to cart it all back each night. The days will be long ones!
