The "Hey Hey Mama Art Prize" introduced Sydney audiences to artworks inspired by motherhood. The opening night on the 8th May was a great success and three winners came away with prize money; Jasmine Symons - The Judge's Award, Irena Storay and 44 Spoons with the People's choice award. The art show was innovative, inspirational and highly rewarding.
We want to thank all our sponsors who made it possible for us to reach our target: They are Joy Rose, Anna Diyanova, Joan Garvan, Catherine Walsh, Rachel Besser, Annbrita Nilsson, Alana Ruben Free, Pete Davie and Anonymous.
We also want to thank everyone who participated in the Hey Hey Mama Art Prize and the Mamapalooza Festival, during the Mama Song Nights, Mama Variety Night, workshops and the Discussion with writers, poets and academics.
As part of Mamapalooza International we are "dedicated to serving, promoting, celebrating, encouraging, inspiring and awakening ALL mothers through Media, Commerce, Connection and Performing & Fine Arts." And with your contribution you will be helping to bring together the extraordinary talent of so many mothers in this country. The “Hey Hey Mama Art Prize” starts with you.
We also want to thank Tap Gallery and Leslie Dimmick for her assistance and venue, and encourage everyone to see future shows at Tap Gallery.
