FEAST is all about helping young Design Activists get a start, and it really needs YOU. Every little drop you pledge, helps design for a better world. To empower young Designers so they can actually get their projects out into the world.
FEAST (Funding Emerging Activists through Sustainable Tactics) Melbourne is the event to come to if you want your ideas heard! If at the end of the night you have the stand out idea, you will be funded.
FEAST Melbourne borrows with deep appreciation from FEAST Brooklyn, where it has been HUGE, and done great things!! have a look here: http://feastinbklyn.org/?p=457
It is a community based initiative where you get to enjoy a warm bowl of soup and vote for the best Design Idea that will create positive social change.
If you want to help make social change happen through Graphic Design, read on.
How it works:
1. Tell your friends, family, peers and colleagues about this event and help us garner interest!
2. Come to the event with an empty stomach and an open mind
3. Pledge $10 for your delicious soup which will fund the winner’s idea. Your payment provides you with a ticket which will allow you to vote
4. Be inquisitive and ask the presenters questions to help you decide on who to vote for
5. Vote for your favourite idea, and by favourite we mean the idea that you think will be the most successful in promoting positive social change
6. Share and meet other like minded people to spark new ideas and communities, and have a great night!
If you're interested in applying to present your idea, you can get a copy of the application questions here (scroll to the bottom to download a pdf version of the questions).
The more people who are involved, the bigger the incentive for someone like you to get their idea out into the world and make it a reality.
For more information on how you can get involved or help, visit Old School New School's website here.
The Challenges
Thankyou so much for supporting such a worthy project. Each lovely envelope is an art piece within itself. Hand crafted from thick riso print paper stock, and hand folded into a French Fold.
Thankyou! This is a NEW reward for your support, we are happy to give you a ticket to the Melbourne Screening of Faith Levine's The Signpainters, on 12 November! which includes a live demonstration by two Signpainters on the night! http://signpaintermovie.com.au/#about
Thank you so much! Your $10 buys you one vote, and a warm bowl of soup to share! Your vote will go to one of the best four applicants, who will then use the funds to bring their idea to life, and do what artists and designers do best - instead of selling us more stuff we don't need, their skills will be put to good use. to create positive social change.

You have bagged yourself something sure to cause design envy amongst the design cognoscenti. Size 10cm dia x 6cm high.
Thanks so much! You are the one and only to own this original handcrafted artwork by Kitty Lo. Kitty has generously donated this hand painted poster which you can grab for just $90!
