Since I began to work with dye a few years ago for my business Couture Cloth, I've worked on increasing my knowledge, testing theories and have sorted the good information from the bad.
I also know that teaching others how to do things is something I really enjoy, so with this project I want to be able to share my knowledge of dye with a wider audience.
My goal for "Dye like a Pro" is to provide a cohesive introduction to working with dye, encompassing everything from dye preparation and safety through to a range of techniques, including the Shibori techniques I have become known for.
Should this campaign be successfully funded, a short e-course will be the result which will include text, photographic examples and video tutorials. Participants will also be able to join a community to discuss projects and ask questions relating to the course. This course will focus on dyeing bamboo velour using procion mx dyes, but the techniques and all information can be adapted for use with other natural fabrics.
Once the first round of the course is complete, future customers will be able to purchase the course as a digital download and complete it at their own speed.
My estimated delivery for the e-course is mid to late November, and the dyed fabric rewards will deliver from mid November to mid December.

For $85 you will be enrolled in the e-course and will also receive 1m of Arashi Shibori dyed bamboo velour in your choice of "boy", "girl" or "rainbow" colours. This price includes postage.
