Hi everyone!

I have been busy commissioning , workshopping and developing solo violin repertoire written by Australian composers , in preparation for a full length CD and I am now at the stage of preparing for recording and getting the album ready for a release date of August 2013.

My main focus is to get as much classical Australian music of varying levels recorded , so that students and performers of all ages and levels have more options of selecting repertoire by first hearing a work that they may enjoy to learn . This project idea started after I recorded a couple of youtube clips of Australian short pieces for violin and piano , and as a result , all composers noticed a sudden surge of inquiries and sales of their compositions , which otherwise weren’t getting noticed despite being published. It proves to me that by putting recordings out there , people are more likely to want to explore a new work. I’ve even had several people email me from overseas trying to find the music recorded on those youtubes , so the music really is getting to be spread internationally as a result of just a little recording and getting the music heard.

After completely self funding my first CD with pianist , John Martin , “Romance Rags and Blues” , I discovered that making an album is a costly venture , even when producing the CD independently. Thankfully , sites like Pozible can help me to fundraise some of those costs! In the simplest way, you can help by pre-ordering the CD. Other rewards include invitations to special performances , thank you's/company logos in the liner notes of the album and on my website , and house concerts. Making a pledge also means that you will be one of the first people to receive the new CD.

All the aspects of the CD will be produced in Australia. The Recording , mixing and mastering will be done by my excellent and talented friends from Hospital Hill Recordings , the extra commissions will be from Australian Composers Dave Paterson and John Martin, and other works by composers: Cyrus Meurant , Anthony Linden Jones , Ann Carr-Boyd and Stephen Lalor and Stuart Greenbaum. The CD cover will be created by wonderful young and upcoming artist , Abira Harvey , and the booklet  design will be produced by Sarah Nguyen.
