“Rock Academy 2012” is an exciting initiative of the Regional Youth and Performing Arts Foundation Inc.  comprising initially of a two day intensive workshop (3rd, 4th of April); in which young musicians / artists from regional communities get the opportunity to collaborate with leading mentors, guest musicians / songwriters, and each other. The outcome of their work being the opportunity to perform in this years' Rock Academy 2012 event. (21st April 2012).  It is a showcase of some of the best youth rock bands and performers of our regional Communities.  We also hope to offer performers the opportunity to recieve studio time and have their song posted on our Youtube channel - NRAMvideo, and receive 'air-time'.

 It is envisaged that Rock Academy will become an annual event with several clinics hosted each year to support young musicians and create opportunities for them to be mentored and heard regardless of socio-economic background.   Funds raised will help us cover the cost of clinics, sound and lighting so that we can direct ticket takings directly back to the youth through mentor scholarships. 

This project is co-ordinated voluntarily by Northern Rivers Academy of Music and its highly experienced team of professional musicians, educators,  songwriters, event producers, and studio engineers and will be presented at the Wangaratta Soundshell in Merriwa Park.   NRAM has successfully managed numerous large community and corporate events including National Youth Jazz Academy concerts and clinics programs, Interstate tours, major concerts (including the award winning "I am Melba" program), Carols by Candlight and various Festivals.
