First, what is TIMeS? Taylor's Integrated Moodle e-Learning System or better known as TIMeS, marks the university’s bold initiative to transform traditional classroom teaching into an interactive learning environment which is only accessible through a web browser.

I want to learn how to develop mobile apps as it has always been one of my interests ever since owning a smartphone. I used to fiddle with my smartphone, switching around with various operating systems to see which suited my taste best. I did some Android theming back in the Android 4.4 - KitKat days where my mind was preoccupied with the announcement of L (know as Lollipop now) Preview Material Design and made my phone looked as cool as L and that's about as far as I went in Android development. So, I asked myself, "Why not step up the game and try making an actual app?".

Project Timeline

We're planning on releasing TIMeS Android Mobile Application in early Summer 2016.

Our target is to enter the beta testing phase in late May to allow our pledgers to test the core features.

DEC 2015 | Commence Android Course Works
FEB 2016 | Begin Core Design and Coding Works
MAY 2016 | Begin Beta Testing Phase
JULY 2016 | Submit TIMeS Mobile Application to Playstore.

The Project

I'm pretty sure everyone is tired of logging into TIMeS in a web browser every single time so it has finally come to this. The focus of this app will be the ability to gather information ranging from new document uploads to messages from lecturers or Taylor's TIMeS Administrator all in one app, displaying them in a clutter-less manner which is both easy to access and also pleasing to the eyes. Our current mobile platform of choice is Android at the moment.

Disclaimer: We are not by any chance affiliated with the current Taylor's Mobile Application project which may be in development.

How The Funds Will Be Used

1.  Android App Development Course
2. Quality Control and Quality Assurance of the app.
3. Functionality of the app, the more features it has, the more resources we need.
4. Back end code required to connect to TIMeS app.
5. Google Play Developer Console Account for uploading TIMeS to the Playstore.

The Challenges

Our main challenge would most definitely be making the app itself, since we wish to develop it all on our own, that's right, on our own, just for you people! Also, time management would definitely play an important role in this project as a full-time undergraduate in order to successfully develop the TIMeS Mobile Application.

We'll also put the app under vigorous testing, squashing bugs a long the way before submitting it to the Playstore.
