The White Feather

Machine guns clatter. Giant explosions fill the air with flying mud and debris. Is this a World War 1 battlefield? Only through a camera lens. The White Feather is an epic short film with high production value. Set in Bungadore and Sydney, it tells a tale of passion and betrayal, and moves between Australia and the European theatre of war. Driven by a talented local cast and crew, the film is specially timed for release as the nation celebrates the WW1 centenary in 2014. Filming will occur during Easter 2013 in Goulburn NSW and Canberra.

Yowie Productions is offering a unique opportunity for you to be involved in our latest film project. We are seeking pledges to move the production to the next level and, in particular, help fund post-production. In exchange, we're offering rewards ranging from small keepsakes (such as signed photos of our talented cast members) through to time on the film set, a private dinner with the director and even the opportunity to be an extra! Due to constraints on the film set, this exclusive offer is strictly limited and is filled on a first come, first served basis.

Importantly, every pledge will be supporting local Australian arts and the development of local talent.

Background

Yowie Productions made its debut in 2010 with the short-film 'The Yowie' (available for free viewing on IMDb: http://imdb.com/title/tt1705072/) (Director: Jens Hertzum; writer: Laurence De B. Anderson). The film was received with acclaim, winning Best Cinematography and the Award of Merit at the Los Angeles Cinema Festival of Hollywood. The Yowie also received interest from a European Cable TV network to secure distribution rights and was shown at many film festivals.

Following the success of The Yowie, we have assembled an experienced, award-winning team to work on our next short film, The White Feather. The film is a WW1 Australian period film depicting a patriotic tale of love, war and betrayed family relations using authentic costumes as well as archive footage from the war itself. Filming will take place during Easter 2013 in Canberra, at the historic Kenmore Hospital in Goulburn, NSW and Calthorpes' House, ACT. With Canberra’s Centenary being celebrated in 2013 and the Anzac Centenary in 2014 the film is especially relevant and we are hoping to sign distribution agreements with ABC, SBS, Foxtel and Qantas.
