A short film, directed by Clay Waddell, Written by Zara Sengstock and Produced by Josh Gailbraith and Zara Sengstock

GONE SYNOPSIS:
A coming of age story not yet told. The film highlights the effects of intolerance of homosexual relationships on the lives of youths as well as the power of love.
“Gone” is a tragedy that could have been avoided. It consists of two best friends, Bess and Matilda, who are in love. They dream of escaping the isolation and intolerance of their hometown, but in the weeks leading up to their escape Matilda makes a mistake, causing their dreams to come crashing down around them. The film depicts the impact of a moment defining the rest of our lives, but also suggests that through our hardships, beautiful alternatives may arise.
We feel it is an important film to make as it empowers young women to discuss their feelings, and know they are not alone in whatever circumstance faces them. Gone are the days where crime thrillers and heterosexual relationships flood our cinemas, Its time for a new age of film that discusses prominent and modern coming of age issues, and tells the youths of today that you are not alone. It’s time to openly discuss and celebrate the discourse of “LOVE”, in all of its many forms. Tolerance is one of the most powerful gifts one can possess. No matter whom you are, where you come from, everyone has a place, and deserves to feel safe.
We will not give up in trying to send our message, and we hope that you would like to be a part of it! Let's unite to use film to make a change.
Some Inspirations for the film, in regards to style, art department and character traits, include; the original Puberty Blues film as well as the more recent TV series, Juno, The outsiders

The location of our film is Cherry Lake, Altona (which is where we filmed our promotional video)

.Set Design.
The main part of the film occurs in Bess and Matilda's secret hide out, a wrecked but beautiful old couch hidden beneath large trees.
