THE PROBLEM
There are thousands of charities and social enterprises, so how do you know which one to support?
How do you know where your money's going?
How do you find the time to research what's out there, let alone whether they're worthy?
How can you make a difference if you are not a millionaire?

THE 10X10 SOLUTION
10x10 is a scalable platform that provides a unique and social forum for young professionals and creatives to give to emerging charities or social enterprises whose causes resonate with them. It also engenders a culture of giving and philanthropy within our communities.

THIS 10 X 10 EVENT HOSTED BY MUTUAL TRUST
Join us on Wednesday 22nd June 2016 at “ZenDesk", 3/395 Collins Street Melbourne

6:30pm - 9:00pm
Drinks & canapés from 6:30pm. Speakers begin at 7:00pm

HOW IT WORKS
1) Each event showcases three emerging charities or social enterprises, carefully chosen as organisations creating solutions to complex social issues in our communities or abroad.
2) Supported by the 10x10 founders, each event is planned and hosted by a fresh committee of 10. Each committee member hosts 10 guests at the event, bringing together over 100 people who each contribute $100 or more, raising $10,000 at least!
3) Each charity or social enterprise has five minutes to pitch in the style of the popular UK television show "The Dragon's Den" and are then questioned by a special guest Dragon about their cause and business model.
4) The amount you donate through Pozible in advance is turned into vouchers for 'Charity Dollars' in increments of $50. After hearing the pitches, you choose the organisations you most want to support. Many people want to support all three charities or social enterprises so they contribute $150 or more. Additional donations to the enterprises are contributed by our event sponsors.
5) All costs of each event are covered by event sponsors, to ensure that ALL funds raised on the night go directly to the three charities or social enterprises.

How The Funds Will Be Used

We're excited to be supporting the following innovative and impactful charities:

HoMie is a non-profit street-wear fashion label and clothing store in Melbourne Central Shopping Centre that clothes, trains and employs people who are experiencing homelessness.

HoMie would use sponsorship funds to run additional VIP Shopping Days for the homeless community in 2016 from its new Brunswick Street clothing store. These shopping days could distribute approximately 500 items of brand-new clothing to the homeless community, and would benefit over 100 individuals in the tangible and intangible ways described above. Furthermore, as VIP Shopping Days are one of HoMie's costs, the money would help the organisation keep going, so that HoMie can continuing making caring cool, donating easy, and receiving dignified each day.

SisterWorks is a social enterprise that supports women with asylum seeker, refugee – or Sisters – to gain independence and become integrated into Australian society. SisterWorks started with much human investment and limited resources.

In April, SisterWorks did a soft opening of the SisterWorks Shop. It was open with basic fittings, many of them lent by one of the neighbours at Richmond who has a furniture shop. SisterWorks started this new venture in a learning by doing process with the aim to develop the long term sustainability of SisterWorks, while the shop is also serving as a site where the Sisters undertake a training course in Australian best work practices in retail skills. But to make the shop sustainable, it needs to be dynamic, innovative and eye-catching from the street to entice customers in. With 10 x 10 sponsorship funds, SisterWorks would be able to buy the furniture and display needed to help promote the new shop.
