Newtown Shopkeepers Photo Book
The project had its genesis as I mused on how much this world has changed in the past 50 years, and imagined how interesting it would be to see a collection of portraits of local shopkeepers from the 1960s. There is no doubt that people in 2063 will have that same thought; this project ensures that they will have comprehensive document of the Newtown Shopkeepers of 2013!

During the exhibition in 2012 it became evident that, for the project to truly become the historical document that I envisaged it would be, greater depth was required with more portraits, and a short personal statement from each subject to put it all in context. The project represents a snapshot of a vital commercial community at a pivotal time in history. This limited edition book is the result.
Please spread the word to your friends. Because this is a limited-edition book of 1,000 copies, it is critical for you, your friends, and family to pre-order now to ensure they get their own copy of “Newtown Shopkeepers.” Once they’re gone, they’re gone.
Below are two sample pages from the book. Each of the 50 portraits is accompanied with an interview.
