Allison Jablonko14 hours to go! It's been a wonderful 40 days of growing gratitude and excitement, flowing like a swift river. It started as a small stream from the moment Shiva's elegant presentation appeared here. It gathered momentum as we reached out to friends, family, colleagues. My heart danced as I remembered each person I was sending the announcement to, the way we had met, the adventures we had shared long ago or the brief recent encounters online. Shiva and I were thrilled to see the river widen, the financial goal reached and surpassed. We loved your comments - those published here and many sent privately through email. Now this river is converging with a second stream and they will soon flow together into the adventure awaiting us in July and August. The second stream is the growing number of email and internet contacts we've been making both in PNG and with the film team of www.whattookyousolong.org. On July 7, these two tributaries will begin to flow together in the face-to-face world when we fly from Australia to Port Moresby. On July 11, if all goes as planned, we will fly to Simbai, where my husband, Marek, and I landed first in February, 1963. We have already received word via email that people there are preparing with joy to receive us. Knowing PNG tradition, I shall be called upon to make a speech. I will speak of Marek's memory and I will speak of the support we have had from all of you. The days in PNG will be full and we will often be far from internet connections.
