Dear Lucy is a story about a young girl who finds her courage through the help of an imaginary friend.

Dear Lucy is a preteen Disneyesque coming of age film that will portray the innocence and imagination of childhood. It will show the magic that can be brought to any situation through imagination. It will glorify the greens of the trees, the sunlight peaking through the branches, the spots of colour that is flowers scattered through the vines. 

Lucy takes us on a journey through a forest that teaches us about trust, courage and friendship.

I am greatly influenced by films like 'Bridge to Terabithia, Hugo and any Disney animation that has a moral and leaves you feeling good at the end. Dear Lucy will aim to provide an empowering and uplifting film that will cause you to leave the theatre feeling good.

The shoot is taking place in a private forest on the coast of the Fleurieu Peninsula as it looks untouched and rather enchanting. Conveniently there is an old tree house built into the branches of a large pine tree that will become the major setting for our character discovery. 
The story is one that will teach you that the only person who can bring out your full worth, and teach you to enjoy and overcome challenges is you. 

I am passionate about filmmaking and with your help I will be able to make a film that I am proud of and a story that make people feel uplifted and entertained.

The funds will be mainly put into production design in order to create the magic and imagination filled set that will drive the tone of the film.
It is always the small things that bring the film to life and enhance the story.  These are the little things that will make this film great.
For example in order to take my film away from the traditional scary forest and bring it into an enhanced magical and imaginary world there will be small colourful flowers that will cover the forest floor; A big wrought iron fence that boarders the real world and the imaginary world will be bought and constructed; as well as costumes to emphasis and create the characters, as it is the characters that are driving the story. 
The remainder of the funds will be put toward the camera kit hire and other tools that will add to the style of the film. 

If the funds are not raised then I will have to cut back on the production design and forfeit some of the filmmaking tools that would make this film great. It would be excellent to have the option to put everything I can towards my film  and not look back at it at the end of the year and say 'if only I had an extra $X, I could have this or this to really bring it into another world.'
