The Fleet Store 2015 is a pop-up store presented by QUT Fashion students, showcasing products designed by up and coming QUT students and alumni. Launching on 21 August 2015, the store will be open for business until 27 August and stock various original fashion products, accessories and fine arts! This year, The Fleet Store endeavours to encapsulate the contemporary spirit of Australiana as inspiration for local Australian designers. The aesthetic is inspired by the beaches and sunsets of Australia, with playful and brightly coloured outfits echoing national flora. Come see the latest talent from Brisbane's design scene, pick up a piece of your own to take home and help us make The Fleet Store 2015 a year to remember!
The Fleet Store 2015 is presented in partnership with the Asia Pacific Design Library at State Library of Queensland; surrounded by resources that document past Australian design, and those who represent the future of Australian design.

Each year, The Fleet Store has been met with great excitement by the local design community and generates an inspiring buzz for all involved. However, we cannot run the store without financial support. This is where we hope you’ll get involved!

The Fleet Store Photoshoot and Film
As you can see in our video and in lookbook photos, students work hard all year round creating their designs, often spending days in the studio at a time. These pictures are from The Fleet Store photoshoot and show the many talents of our students in their design, construction, styling and photography. Many of our graduates go on to start their own labels after having launched their label at The Fleet Store to give them the experience they need.

How The Funds Will Be Used
Within The Fleet Store team, each student has been given a specific managerial role including finance, marketing, sponsorship and visual merchandising amongst many others. However, each of these sectors has various associated costs.
Nonetheless, as students we are excited and highly motivated to launch the store as it is undeniably a great chance to put our skills to use and show the world what we are capable of.
By supporting The Fleet Store, donations will be supporting the development of student designers.
With a breezy, natural Australiana aesthetic in mind, The Fleet Store will use the donations to cover various costs, including;
- The launch night and public relations events
- Store outfitting’s; such as racks, coat hangers and jewellery stands
- Marketing opportunities including banners, flyers and posters
Nonetheless, as students we are excited and highly motivated to launch the store as it is undeniably a great chance to put our skills to use and show the world what we are capable of.

Completely student run by a group of second year Fashion students from a mix of double and single degrees, this initiative allows these committed students to experience running a store in the real world…
Although we are university students, The Fleet Store is a standalone business and is the first real world experience we get in the industry. As students this challenges us to develop our professional credibility and grow as emerging designers before graduation.
The Fleet Store teaches us more about entrepreneurial skills, marketing, buying, finances and design than any classroom or lecture hall ever could. Please get involved and help us at The Fleet Store reach our goals and support emerging Australian designers!
