We are Jose & May (Argentina & Spain and now proudly Aussie representatives). Our project is to represent Australia at the World Latin Dance Cup in Miami in December 2015 and we need your help. We are the current Australian Tango Professional Champions 2015 and we won the title with this performance at the Australia Latin Dance Championship in Sydney.

We have been granted the Distinguished Talent visa by the Australian Government in 2014 for our Tango and Latin Dance knowledge. This has given us the opportunity to live in Australia and be able to complete our AUSTRALIAN DREAM. We moved to Australia 5 years ago and we have been achieving different awards and recognitions in Australia and around the world in this time.

28 years of dance experience between both of us have driven us to this opportunity. Now it’s time to show to the world what we can do BUT... we want the biggest prize to complete this dance career, we want to compete at the WORLD LATIN DANCE CUP in Miami in December ... and we need your help to get there…

Launch our first Tango Instructional DVD

We are not asking for more than the cost of the flights - $8,000.  We will cover all other costs involved in training and the competition.  The costs we will cover include training (hours of hard work plus pilates, physiotherapy [$800]), costumes ($1000), accommodation ($1300), meals ($1000) and registration for the competition ($228).  Our families have been generous and are helping us with accommodation costs.  Also we have some savings and US dollars that Jose's aunt and uncle gave to us on our wedding and we were saving for a special moment... and this is a good excuse to use them!

The World Latin Dance Cup in Miami is near Christmas (14-21 December).  We are asking for $8,000 because we want to cover the flights from Brisbane to Miami and then from Miami to Spain, then Spain to Brisbane. We haven't seen our families and friends in Spain for 5 years while we've been working hard in Australia, teaching, training and performing. It would be wonderful and heartwarming for all of us to see each other again at this festive and family time.  
 

We have started from scratch 5 years ago. We have been living day by day and with the help of friends and students who were always beside us. It was only 12 months ago that we paid the $12,000 cost of the Visa to be able to live here in Australia, so we haven't had time to save money for this project. 

The community around is always supporting us by attending our classes and performances and including us in their community activities and family events and we have never imposed upon their generosity. This is a big opportunity and we need you. Going to this competition means a lot for us. We are in our 30's and we know if we don't take this chance now we won't do it. To dance at this level, competing in professional category and pushing our choreographies to the highest limits is hard and we will not be able to do it for much longer, so... NOW IT'S OUR TIME TO SHINE!
