Train Tracks is a Sydney based project aimed at enriching Sydney’s creative scene and inspiring people to re-imagine public spaces. Each train tracks event takes hundreds of people on mysterious journeys through the city where they participate and enjoy the collaborative efforts of Sydney’s creative community including art, music and much more.


Started in 2011 when a group of creative friends felt like being cheeky and tried to pull off putting a few bands on the train, Train Tracks was born. Since then the Train Tracks Team has put on 3 events, each new one trying to be more delightfully outrageous, and attracting more people.

Excited by the response we want to continue running these events, do more, and be more ambitious. But for that we need your help. Train Tracks is a not for profit endeavour, everyone participating is a volunteer, and yet the events are expensive to run. Running them so far, has been coming out of our own pockets, but in order to keep up with raising numbers and raising ambitions, we need to become more sustainable.




That is why we are coming to you. If you like what we do, and are as passionate as us about transforming Sydney into a creative haven, please support our cause. We are raising funds for our Summer program which will include three Train Tracks events. These events will be more ambitious than you have seen so far. Any money raised beyond the target will be reinvested in the cause and help us improve these events and do more.

Train Tracks has one consistent obstacle, that being the CityRail staff. There have been points in the past where we've run into some trouble with some disgruntled staff, however we have always managed to resolve the issue and proceed with the show. We always plan ahead by constructing backup plans for every potential scenario that we can anticipate. We also take printed copies of emails we have received from CityRail, which outline the legality of what we are doing, proving that we are not violating any laws. Before each event we ask our audience to be respectful and mindful of others on the train while abiding by train rules, such as 'no drinking', and 'purchasing a valid ticket', ensuring the CityRail staff have no excuses to shut us down.



As Train Tracks has developed a greater following, we have been forced to adapt each event to suit a larger audience. While we hope to continue to expand, we remain focused on keeping each event as intimate as possible. While this may be seen as an obstacle, the Train Tracks team see it as a challenge, as we look to continually push the boundaries in art, performance, and logistics, in creating many more new and exciting experiences for our incredible audience.
