Hello, I’m Tanya and a little over a year ago I created an online magazine called tickle the imagination. Combining my graphic design skills with my love of handmade, my aim was to fill a gap in the market for a gorgeous art, craft & design magazine...to create a magazine I would love to read!
The response to tickle (as it is affectionately know) has been overwhelming, and a year later six online issues have been published - each filling the brief to inspire creativity by showcasing talented makers and designers, discovering emerging talent and sharing real-life stories and diy projects.
tickle is currently published online, and while this is the perfect format for our bimonthly issues, my dream is to create one print issue per year - that you can hold in your hands, pouring over every gorgeous page...to be there when you need a dose of creative inspiration!
This special yearbook issue will be 120 gorgeous pages of full colour in A4 format, and is scheduled for release in December this year. The magazine will have an rrp of $15 and, staying true to our ethos, will feature only Australian designers and makers and will be printed in Australia using an eco friendly approach. It will include our favourite pages from online issues, as well as some new unseen material!
But - I need your help! To publish our special print issue, tickle needs capital. I have set a target of $15,000 – this will cover printing and distribution costs for an initial print-run of 2500 copies. And if we are lucky enough to exceed our goal, additional funds will help with design and promotional costs.
So, today is the day I am calling in all favours! Even if you aren't able to pledge, your help spreading the word would mean the world to me. The more people that hear about it, the better chance we have of making a print issue of tickle a reality.
