Jessi Ryan is bringing to life their second ever Melbourne International Comedy Festival Show - ALL GUTS, NO GLORY!- under the direction of the acclaimed Fiona Scott Norman. Being presented again at Club Voltaire in North Melbourne across 6 shows and 4 nights, with Ryan excited to return to this venue following their debut show presented there in 2024. 

As some of you may know, that show Functional Bottom was met by both critical and audience acclaim, and went on to enjoy a sold out encore in Melbourne before touring to Brisbane Powerhouse.

As fans of that show will testify- when it comes to Ryan's comedy, nobody is safe and nothing is off limits. In this highly anticipated follow up, Ryan battles it out in the boxing ring- and draws upon their intersectional identity as a modern day gig worker (media, arts and hospo)- from Zionest to wage thieves, this show takes on the system one lethal blow at a time.

It costs serious money (in the eyes of a gig worker) to even register an event as part of Comedy Festival, let alone things like venue hire.

With Ryan's seasonal work in hospo having dried up, and with the current state of aussie media- no story commissions on the horizon- Ryan desperately needs your help to bring the funny this Comedy Fest.

Jessi Ryan and Fiona Scott Norman met late in 2025 over at coffee at Mario's.

Following this initial meeting the pair have met several times to shape the work and the works narrative.

First rehearsal for the project was held on February 12th, the pair will continue to meet over the coming weeks for further rehearsals.

The show opens on Wednesday March 25th, with 6 shows between then and Saturday March 28th at Club Voltaire.
