This album has been some time in the making... and this Pozible project is the final part in getting it all to come together. It's something quite special for us and features a new suite of beautiful music... 

But let's backtrack, who are we?

Berardi/Foran/Karlen

We're a contemporary improvised music group -  At home in the jazz genre, but inspired by sounds from classical, folk, and pop worlds. There's three of us, Kristin Berardi (vocals), Sean Foran (piano) and Rafael Karlen (saxophone). We've been playing music together for quite a few years now, and we each have solo careers writing and performing music in various projects. 

In 2015 we released our first album together "Hope in My Pocket". The album featured songs developed to explore the powerful experiences and emotions contained in the correspondence of men & women involved in our military past. The songs explore themes of hope, fear, separation, loss, love, and conditions of war. It was intense, but also beautiful. A track from the album won the QLD Music Award for Jazz in 2016 and the album won the APRA/AMC QLD State Award for excellence in Jazz at the Art Music Awards. 

Since then we've been writing, touring, and working on a new album. Those that have been following us probably noticed we brought a guest out from Europe for shows in 2017 at the Melbourne and Brisbane Jazz Festivals. Pascal Schumacher joined us on Vibraphone and while he was here we spent a day recording a new album.

We've called this new album 

HAVEN

The songs on this album were written/arranged especially for our collaboration with Pascal, and features the sounds of the trio merging with the Vibraphone in a captivating way. The blend of the vibraphone with the piano, vocals and saxophone is so natural... and it just worked right from our first rehearsal together. 

The first single NO SHEPHERDS LIVE HERE was released late last year, and we've got another one RIPPLE out in May. The full album will be released in AUGUST (but you'll hear it way before that!)

The album production is nearly complete, and we'd love your help to produce some wonderful physical representations of the music, develop some captivating artwork, photography and videography, and promote it to music lovers and the press across Australia and Europe.
