Nature comes alive in an evening courtyard setting featuring interactive plant music, live world/folk music & nature inspired art, located next to the heart of the city. Following an award winning 2023 season, Celestial Gardens returns in 2024 with an intimate experience to awaken all the senses.

Presented by Sacred Resonance & In Search of the Divine, Celestial Gardens - Secret Sounds of Plants, is held over two weeks on 8 magical nights. Located at the Olive Garden, Moorooroo Park Vineyards cellar door on Hackney Road; the venue is only a short walk from the city centre, the Garden of Unearthly Delights and Gluttony.

Immerse yourself in ambient lighting, textual artistic expression, and the celestial sounds of plants. Hear the courtyard’s ancient olive trees come alive and greet you as you arrive. Settle into the evening with live musicians, organic small batch Barossa wine and artisan nibbles.

Why Plant Music?

To assist us to re-establish a balanced relationship between humanity and the greater environment, we are “giving nature a voice to speak”. By communicating and connecting with the plants through a common language, music, we can become more aware of the interconnection of all life and our own inherent place within it. Celestial Gardens aims to ignite this vital dialogue and realisation. It is necessary now, more than ever, for us to realise our roles are caretakers, caregivers and custodian of nature and our mother Earth Gaia.

They may be blind, deaf, and dumb in the human sense, but there is no doubt in my mind that they are extremely sensitive instruments for measuring man’s emotions. Step into an enchanted courtyard garden, open your imagination as you unwind and let the day-to-day world drift away. 

Contemplate the beauty of new surroundings as you wander through the cellar door garden and rooms, discover pockets of art, as you sip on a glass of exquisite, organic Barosaa wine, allowing your senses to stir.

Celestial Gardens features an interactive plant music installation by Sacred Resonance that brings the secret garden alive with live plant music using biodata captured by the plants converted to music. 

Touch the plants and hear how they react to you. Discover how each plant has their own unique vibratory signature and song.

Explore new, curated, and site-specific ethereal cermaic sculpture installations and large-scale visual pieces created by Jessica Curtis of In Search of The Divine. The art will allow the viewer to enter in-between being and becoming through the use of tactile mediums, the natural elements and space creation.

As the sun sets, painting the sky a canvas of colours, the courtyard will come alive with twinkling lights, plant music and live music. Each night will feature different instrumental world music/folk-fusion performances.

New to Celestial Gardens 2024 is a cosmic ray detector installation connecting us to cosmic rays in real-time. The cosmic ray detectors will detect live Muons (cosmic rays/ancient particles from deep-space) and convert them into musical frequencies through a multichannel soundscape. The celestial meets the terrestrial as we hear the music of the cosmos harmonise with the earthly garden, highlighting the living symbiotic relationship we share with all nature on Earth and the Supernature of the cosmos.
