Help Publish 'Lost'
Meet Lost
Tara is a curious sheep who lives in a flock with 99 other sheep. One day, she decides to follow a beautiful butterfly and can't find her way back home.
Will the shepherd find her and bring her home?
This story is inspired by the parable of the lost sheep from the Bible, in Luke chapter 15.
Why I wrote Lost
In March 2026, my family went on holiday to Nepal and, while we were there, I had the great honour of being invited to share a story at an orphanage in Kathmandu. I sat down and wrote a version of the parable of the lost sheep, which I was able to share with the children. At the time, I felt it would make a wonderful picture book. When we got home, I started rewriting the story and worked with Julieann Wallace from Lilly Pilly Publishing to get ready for publishing.
I chose the name Tara as it's a Nepali name that means Star.
Peek Inside
I have teamed up with Julieann Wallace of Lilly Pilly Publishing for this book, with Joel Broughton illustrating, to bring Tara and her story to life.
The cover has been finished and the internal illustrations are being completed.
Why I'm crowdfunding
This is simple, I am crowdfunding to bring this book from idea to readers.
The story is currently with Joel, who is working on the illustrations, and the funds raised will help pay for the production of the finished book.
