BernadetteHi Mark, Congratulations on your effort! I have been to PNG as EP of a program about the Pacific on the ABC's former international service Australia Network and am well aware of how many incredible stories there are in PNG - and how few reach the world. You must have had an amazing journey so far - exhilarating and absolutely exhausting, knowing the conditions and the logistical challenges for filming. I left the ABC to work on my own projects and found myself entirely absorbed filming a 96 year old who's a "local legend" in my town and who, incidentally, fought in PNG in WWII. It's a story of community and the last of a generation, but a much harder sell than your story of the fight to save an endangered tree kangaroo which has enormous international appeal! I've been following my local hero for much of the last 2 and a half years so I also have hundreds of hours of footage but my 2011 iMac is struggling even with the rough cut as it just doesn't have the processing power to handle HD. I am cutting on FCPX (just couldn't afford Avid after I spent all my money on camera gear!) and wondered what you're cutting on and how you manage storage (NAS? what kind of drives?) when you also have miles of footage as I try to work out the most cost effective way to get my film finished as quickly as possible when I've well and truly run out of money! Thank you for any advice you can offer and I wish you great success with your film. Kind regards, Bernadette Nunn www.outoftheordinary.net.au [email protected]9y
