Hi, I'm Demi and I am an artist and illustrator from the Gold Coast, Australia and I'm launching pre-orders for 2 Chistmas Tea Towel designs and the final of my Suburban Tropicana Tea Towels. As a stretch goal I am looking to print Christmas Wrapping Paper!

Earlier this year (2021) I produced 3 Tea Towel designs influence by my backyard and South East Queensland living. It was wonderful to hear the great feedback about the designs AND the quality of material so much I would love to do it all again!

The goal:

The goal for this year is to complete the last of my Suburban Tropicana designs, this time featuring Pale Headed Rosellas and frangipanis from my garden. I will need to complete the Artwork for this by 6th August for it to go off to be professionally scanned and colour matched at my local Art Reproduction and framing company. You can watch may progress on my Instagram.

While this design is off to the scanners, I'll then be working on the Christmas design files to turn into Tea Towels. The two designs I have chosen are my 'Great White Shark' and my 'Fat Wombat' which I think will make a great Tea Towel to use over the festive season.

My stretch goal is to create some beautiful wrapping paper that is destinctly Australian in flavour - using gum blossoms, my Koala and cheeky parrots. If you would like to see it then let's make it happen! I have found a local Brisbane printer with a great price for A2 sheets.

Once all the digital files are ready they will then be sent down to Melbourne to be turned into Tea Towels.

Tea Towels

• Printed on 100% Cotton in Melbourne, Australia
• Comes with Made in Australia tag
• Packaging Band is printed on 100% recycled paper from my local Gold Coast paper supplier (I already have stock of this)

Wrapping Paper

• 115GSM gloss paper

Now for the budget....

The biggest cost naturally is printing. My Tea Towels are digitally printed on 100% cotton fabric, then seamed and the Made in Australia Tag is added. In order to support Australian, the cost per item is a little high but the quality is well worth it. This does mean a small print run to start with.

Estimated Tea Towel print cost: $1,500

Estimated Wrapping Paper print cost: $700

Total : $2,200 AUD

I am aiming to reach $700 in Pre-Orders to cover the deposit to start production. 

If my goal is reached (YAY!), my strecth goal would be $2,200 to cover the full production cost AND to produce wrapping paper! 

Timeline :

July - August 6, 2021 : Create final A3 artwork for Suburban Tropicana Tea Towel

August 6 - 27, 2021 : Current lead time for professional scanning and colour match is 4 weeks. In this time I will create the Christmas tea towel files as well as the wrapping paper (just in case!)

August 30, 2021 : Digital files sent to Melbourne for sample to be sent.

September 13 - 18, 2021 : Sample Tea Towels should arrive to me for approval. Production to begin. Production is estimated to be 4 weeks.

October 11 - 16, 2021 : Tea Towels will be sent to me (all things going to plan.. *cough* COVID)

* If stretch goal is reached, files for wrapping paper will be sent to print here. Production is estimated at 5 business days*

October 18 - 23, 2021 : Packing orders to commence! 

Monday 26 October 2021 : All Pre Orders and special Rewards packs will be sent out ready to start ticking off your Santa list!

Shipping:

Shipping times will vary depending on where you are. Regional packages will take longer so please take this into consideration. I am based on the Gold Coast, Australia so as an example a package heading to regional WA could take up to 15 business days. All packages will be sent with tracking and you will be notified. 

Overseas packages cannot be guaranteed. Even with the COVID situation easing in some places there is simply not enough flights leaving Australia to 100% guarantee arrival before Christmas. Then there's the postal situation once it lands in your home country.
