Peregian thanks the RFS
The Peregian Beach Business Association and Peregian Family and Friends Association have teamed up to create a way for us as a community to show our gratitude to the men and women who fought so hard to save Peregian Beach this week. Commencing this weekend and running for one week, we aim to raise $10,000 to donate to the Rural Fire Service (RFS), the volunteer organisation which worked with the professional emergency services, the police, SES and fire brigade, to protect Peregian Beach. We are working with the Area Director for the North Coast Region of the Rural Fire Service to ensure our contributions make the most helpful impact to the four brigade clusters across the Sunshine Coast who worked so hard to save our town. They have requested hampers for individual fire fighters so they are able to take some time out with loved ones to perhaps go for a meal or enjoy an item from local retailers, as well as cash donations towards a shed to house equipment, electrical/media equipment for training and financial support for a major training event to be held in 2020.
