I have recognized a need for a portable toothbrush that can hold and pump fresh clean water. If you are traveling, boating, camping or tramping this portable toothbrush is ideal. You do not need to be near a faucet just use bottled water which can be a lot safer that what comes out of the tap! I know I have been very ill just using a hotel faucet and swallowed a little water by mistake. When you activate the pump pressure and flow on the toothbrush head is similar to using under bathroom faucet.

This is a pioneering idea and I am sure will be very popular in many countries. What's my background? A large part of my long career has been in design, manufacturing, and brand management. For many years I have been involved in pumping water either for industry, agriculture, or display in the garden. So when I decided to develop a product that could pump clean water onto a toothbrush you could say my background was a big help. I have been involved in manufacturing in Asia for over 12 years so I know exactly where to make such a product and of a high quality. I have been involved in the design and product launch of some very successful campaigns.

What is the current stage of development? The concept and design are completed which means the prototype for the water tank in the handle and the hand pump can be completed in a short time. The toothbrush head requires tooling, however with funds available this also can be finished reasonably quickly and production could get under way. I am currently formulating a marketing campaign concentrating on outlets associated with the travel industry and stores that specialize in outdoor activities. It is a product that could also be sold extensively in supermarkets or pharmacy.

So the funding is required for three areas: Stage one tooling for the toothbrush attachment, Stage two production for the initial launch, and Stage three marketing. The costs are split 50% Stage one and two and 50% Stage 3 which involves mainly travel and media costs (video etc).

I strongly believe that anybody involved in travel has a real need for such a product, in some countries using tap water in hotels or homes can have devastating results. Simply brushing teeth twice a day should not spoil a business or holiday trip!

I also been involved in the boating industry and this will be a perfect product to use on a boat as most boat tanks are tainted and not fresh, also great for camping and hiking.

As this is a mechanical device and uses food grade materials I do not believe there are any risk factors. My vast experience will ensure that all aspects in the design and manufacture are to a very high standard. I will on hand at the factory to supervise production packaging etc. I have arranged for logistics to distribute to any country worldwide.

The timing is really important and I continue to organize the steps required prior to launch. I have a logo/brand and an established import export Company to market and sell the product.

I have made initial enquiries on market potential to the sectors I believe will be the target market. That is organizations involved in Travel, Supermarket and Pharmacy trade, outdoor outlets for boating and camping. My main challenge currently is that the potential customers want to see the finished product including pacakaging, brochure and video. So it is a situation where I need the funds to complete tooling, initial production (at least for samples) and marketing materials. To arrange the tooling and production this means travel I must supervise this personally.
