Subvrt Mag is an independently run publication started in Sydney as a solo venture by myself, Sara Nicolette. The definition of subvert is to 'overturn or overthrow from the foundation', and through Subvrt I aim to present an alternative media source that explores current affairs, subcultures, sexuality, anti-establishment fashion and arts and culture.

Each printed issue will be centered around a current theme, with Gender & Sexuality being the theme for the first issue. Within the first issue we are exploring the concept of gender & sexuality through a variety of photoshoots, interviews, and artists;

I have been fortunate enough to have a wide range of contributors that have made Issue 1 possible, but still need assistance with funds to make the print issue of the magazine possible.

The dream of Subvrt Magazine can only come to life with the help of all you amazing people. All financial support gained from this campaign will be going towards production for the print of Issue 1.

To reach my funding goal, the minimum amount of copies required will be 100, which will be priced at $18 per unit as it is a small run. This will be for a perfect bound, gloss cover magazine. If there is any additional funds this will be spent on promotion for the first issue as well as the launch party.

Producing a publication like this for the first time has been very rewarding, but also quite time consuming - which is a challenge in itself as I am currently not being paid for it. 

Being a single person producing an entire magazine has been difficult, and I would like to work towards being able to expand the magazine to a point where I can employ a team of people to specialise in different areas.

Promotion & marketing is an important part of getting attention for a new publication like this, and this can be challenging when funds are limited, however the key is networking!
