Hi! 

I'm Isabelle Beauverd, a Melbourne-based dance artist and choreographer of new contemporary dance work, Surge. Along with a highly dedicated team of artists, this project will be presented in September 2019 during Melbourne Fringe Festival. With your generous support, we can present this work to the Melbourne community and celebrate local artistic talent!

About the project:

Surge is an unfurling contemporary dance performance that explores the organic process of change. This work presents a view of how we as individuals respond to, and are affected by, this inescapable cycle. It asks us to reflect on our own attitudes and involvements with change, as well as celebrate our ability to adapt to and change with our environment. Within a state of flux, three outstanding performers grace the space as they search for connection and constancy. Driven by a pulsating, electronic sound composition, Surge presents a fluid dance that is ever-shifting and transforming.

We Need Your Help!:

In the dance sector there is limited funding available for independent artists, but with your support this piece can be shared with the world and help us gain momentum in the field! This project is completely self-funded and not for profit. With your kind support, I will be able to pay the amazing and talented artists involved, and at best, break even! We require $2,500 to help fund artist wages, as well as venue and production costs. All donations contributed will go directly to the artists involved and associated costs of performance. This project will employ six young artists, ranging from performers to artists in sound, lighting, and costume design.

Cost Breakdown:

Venue hire: $2,386

Studio hire: $300

Artist fees: $3,350

Additional venue overheads: $200

TOTAL: $6,236

Income Projection:

Crowdfunding target: $2,000

Ticket sales: $1,800

TOTAL: $3,800

The end result will see the presentation of Surge at Dancehouse from 19-22 Septmeber 2019.  Your financial donation, no matter how small, will allow us to showcase this project within the Melbourne community.
