rohanlove your work. thought provoking and enjoyable. Re: cheap booze back in March 2 (yeah yeah im playing catch up) it got me thinking about something we learnt back in the Uni days about "Authentic Experiences" 1. if you know something is staged, you can still enjoy it and appreciate the contrived product. 2. if you dont know its staged, can still enjoy it 3. if you find out later that it was staged but didnt realise at the time, that's when you feel dirty. 4. sometimes an experience can be truly authentic and provides an original and meanful exchange... but these are rare. I learnt yesterday (on Gruen Transfer) that all the dating apps are owned by the same company. Thats awkward. 2y
StilgherrianI agree, it's about whether we were part of the set-up or not. If we're not, then we're the victims of a hoax, not the audience of a drama. (Shakespeake is fake!) The dating app think, yeah, there's a lot of rebranding. As people's interest in an app wanes a new one is created — and people open accounts in the hope they'll find some new people. But it's just the same people with newer profiles.2y
