I'm Dibs,  21, and I was born biologically female and assigned female at birth. I now identify as non binary, however I wish to express myself in a masculine way and feel my true body was meant to be one made of testosterone. Hence why I've been seeing mental health professionals and doctors since June to be able to obtain a prescription for testosterone and a referal for surgery to have my breasts removed.

Since I was very young I've always wanted to look like my dad more so than my mum. I wanted big muscles, height, a flat chest, typically male clothing, short hair and a deep voice. Unfortunately going through a female puberty meant I couldn't have most of that; so I cut my hair short, dressed in a masculine way and hoped that would make me happy.

I've been thinking seriously about transitioning to male for the most part of 2015. It's been something that I used to be able to shake off but now it's persistant and I've made my decision.

I have been very unlucky in developing a huge double G chest. From the age of 14 or 15 I've wanted to conceal this part of me and have developed terrible posture and a bad back/ neck because I hunch over to try and reduce their visibility. For the last few months I have been binding my chest down with a special compression top to make me feel more like myself and to be able to wear the clothes I want to wear (button up shirts and t-shirs) whilst looking the way they should.

Binding is not the healthiest thing to be doing and in the long term can cause damage to skin and organs. It is also very uncomfortable, restricts movement and is hot in warmer weather. Therefore I would like to have surgery to remove my breasts and have my chest resculpted to resemble that of a biological male.

This unfortunately is not covered by medicare as it is considered cosmetic. 

The surgery will remove most of my breast tissue. Over 90% as to not leave a concave shape.

The out of pocket costs start at $8,300 and I'm hoping to raise as much of that as possible and use my savings to cover the rest.

This is pretty much what I feel like doing all day every day. It sucks.

Using a binder to flatten my chest is not only mentally straining but physically. It's not good for your ribs or your skin or organs. It makes back acne worse and leaves rashes.
