Hi, I'm Tomás Ford. I perform live electronic cabaret and, well, jump on people. And I need help. Obviously. But also, financial help to tour my new show to Edinburgh Fringe.
This years' festival is a big one for me; I'm in a well known venue, with an entirely new set of songs I'm calling Tomás Ford Stop Killing People. It takes the multimedia cabaret spectacle I do and tethers it to a twisted spy thriller. After a preview season as part of a residency at Rockingham Arts Centre in July, I'm taking it to Edinburgh along with my hyperactive late night DJ format, Crap Music Rave Party. This is a terrifying tour. And expensive. Which makes it even more terrifying. So I'm hoping you can help me out.
A couple of years ago, I asked for your help for my debut season; since then, I've been taking my shows to the Edinburgh Fringe festival, building a cult audience and picking up fantastic reviews and award nominations. The Scotsman has listed me as one of their favorite shows and on my closing weekend. Last year, I walked out of the venue on closing night to hear the nights' audience chanting my name. It's ticking along nicely, and It all sets up very well for me build on what I've done over there.
I've got a pile of exclusive rewards organised for supporters, starting with an EP of covers from my live shows that people have been begging me to record for years. I'm also broadcasting a live variety show to supporters over the internet, featuring a killer lineup of my comedian and cabaret friends from around the Edinburgh Fringe, filmed live from my lounge room. There's tickets to see the show, copies of my records, a chance for you to choose my next cover song or a few properly debauched house parties. The biggest reward is a trip to join me in Edinburgh at $6000.

My campaign was selected for inclusion in MATCH by The Blue Room Theatre, one of 17 independent arts organisations appointed by Creative Partnerships Australia to distribute matched funding, based on their capacity to reach, influence and work collectively with artists across different art forms.

How The Funds Will Be Used
STRETCH GOAL: $2712 (a total of $9162)
Since we've got a lot of time left on the campaign, a pile of great rewards that I'd love to create for people and we're up against the most insanely huge arts festival in the world, I've been chatting to my performer friends about the best way to spend anything extra that I can raise. Everyone says street ads have the biggest impact and we have a fantastic poster that I'd love to get around Edinburgh and in potential audiences' faces as much as possible. So we're looking at an extra $2712, that would cover:
* $378 Poster distribution of 300 posters around Edinburgh businesses in shop windows, poster boards etc in the leadup to the festival.
* $720 20xB2 Posters around Edinburgh (like the ones above)
* $864 Four Mega "4 Sheet" sized posters placed around Edinburgh.
* $750 Three "Lamp Post Triangles"
As you can see at the top of the page, we passed the original goal when the top reward was taken out two days into the campaign (!), that's covered:
* My life-alteringly amazing (but not inexpensive) publicist.
* My fantastic (but not inexpensive) venue hire.
* A mega print run for my amazing posters and flyers.
* Two flyerers for an hour each night to pound the pavement before the showwith the aforementioned posters and flyers.

The tracklist includes Radiohead's Creep, Kim Wilde's Cambodia, The Origin Of Love from Hedwig And The Angry Inch, The Painkillers' Perth classic Love Cancer and Kylie Minogue's Can't Get You Out Of My Head. The EP will be recorded in July and September for download in early October. I will also be in awe of you!
